Individual, Family and Marital Therapy
Our practice offers therapy for adults, families and couples. Every client is
assessed during an Initial Consultation Evaluation that Mothers Groups: Gain support, perspective, and insight for your specific parenting challenges in a small group of peers. Groups meet bimonthly for 90 minutes each and commitment is required. Adolescent and Young Adult Groups: Guided insight and peer support for teens and young adults addressing anxiety, identity development, eating disorders, anger and other challenges. Groups are formed based on age and issues. For young adults, ages 18 - 22. They meet weekly for 75 minutes. Commitment is required. Please contact us for more information or for an Initial Intake. Behavioral, developmental and cognitive assessments allow parents and students to understand the nature of their social or academic challenges. A Behavioral Assessment package, for ages two and up, may include parent and teacher interviews, a classroom or in-office observation, parent/teacher standardized behavioral questionnaires, and written report with recommendations for intervention. Psycho-educational and diagnostic evaluations are also available for all
ages. Such an evaluation may include a social-emotional and/or cognitive
testing. Along with testing to assess developmental and/or cognitive abilities, a psychologist in our practice can provide services as your advocate in the process of communicating test results to teachers and/or facilitating individual educational planning. Assessment facilitates treatment planning and intervention which in turn facilitates growth and maturation. Assessment materials may include:

Our practice consults medical offices, schools, businesses, health spas, and mental health agencies, responding to your specific needs for information. Abrams and Associates, LLC offers a variety of educational presentations concerning mental health, covering a spectrum of topics, including how to parent with confident authority, tools for managing young children, understanding adolescence, how to successfully manage sibling rivalry, minding your marriage, and more. Just about any presentation can be reconstructed into a one to three hour workshop. We are happy to develop a presentation or in-service that suits your specific needs.
