Adolescent Girls Groups

Adolescents overcome social anxieties and build positive self-identity via social competence. Group programs are affordable, goal oriented, and of short-term duration. We offer a 75 minute group for girls ages 14/15 and for girls ages 16/17.

A screening Intake is required to determine readiness for group versus individual work. A commitment to weekly sessions is also required. Every effort is made to place girls from geographically diverse schools and residents for optimal confidentiality and comfort.

In our girls groups we encourage mutual respect and sharing. Girls learn to talk openly about concerns and to give constructive feedback and care to each other. Participants are encouraged to present topics of personal interest to the group, such as articles or inquiries about assertiveness, peer pressure, gossip, identity development, etc. Adolescents also have opportunity for either individual work or family work.
